Kimberly Starling, LMFT
As human persons, each of us needs connection - someone to bear witness to the stories of our lives and to help us make sense of why our lives look and feel the way they do. By understanding our stories and life experiences, we can understand how we came to think, feel and relate to others in the ways that we
do. Therapy can help us name the beauty and brokenness of our own stories, which can lead to much deeper connection with others. It is through this knowledge and experience that we are able to forge a more free and fulfilling path forward.
Kimberly is a native of Baldwin County, having been born and raised in this area. She graduated with a Bachelor’s
Degree from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH. She then obtained her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through the University of Mobile.
Kimberly is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Alabama. She has extensive experience in the counseling field. She has worked with families, as well as adult individuals and couples. She has worked with individuals with a wide variety of problems and challenges and believes that counseling can be beneficial to all of us in identifying ways to improve our lives. She is trained in Narrative Focused Trauma Care as well as EMDR.

John King, LPC
Therapy is a place to identify which of your needs are not getting met and learn ways to meet them. It is a place to learn new skills for solving that problem - of feeling overwhelmed and powerless, unheard and misunderstood, resentful and lonely - and to learn how to use your own strengths that you already have, so that you can take care of yourself and your relationships. Using evidence-based treatments, we will work together to equip you with a roadmap and other tools so that you can make decisions from a place of strength and live the life that is meaningful to you.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has experience providing counseling to men and women in inpatient treatment for substance abuse disorders and has received extensive, one-on-one training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. John obtained his professional license working with children, teens, and families in the Mobile area. Today, he works with individuals, couples, and families, with a special focus on teens and couples. John has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses the Gottman Method as the foundation for his work with couples, also incorporating the techniques of Relational Life Therapy pioneered by Terry Real. He enjoys working with teens struggling in their relationships with family and peers and who experience concerns related to trauma, grief, gender identity, and general anxiety and depression.
Warm and easygoing, with an eye toward solutions, John works primarily through a lens of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, providing CBT-specific treatments including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. His approach to counseling is rounded out with strong influences from Positive Psychotherapy and the Existentialist approaches paved by psychotherapists like Viktor Frankl and Irvin Yalom.
